About this rug
A nursery or playroom rug takes a different kind of daily use than a living room piece, more crawling, more spills, more time spent sitting directly on it. We kept the pile low and dense so it's easy to wipe down and doesn't trap crumbs the way a shaggy rug does, while still using real New Zealand wool for softness underfoot. The plant-based dyes keep the playful pattern colours steady wash after wash and wipe after wipe, without a chemical dye smell fresh out of the packaging. Cotton backing keeps the whole rug anchored flat, which matters a lot more when there's a toddler moving across it than in a formal living room.

Is the pile safe for crawling babies? +
The low, dense pile is soft underfoot and doesn't have loose fibres that pull up easily, making it comfortable for floor play.
How do I clean up spills or messes? +
Blot spills right away with a damp cloth. The low pile and tight weave make wiping up crumbs or small messes quick.
Does the pattern fade with washing? +
The plant-based dye is set into the fibre before weaving, so the pattern holds its colour through normal spot cleaning.
Is it too thin for a playroom? +
The pile is intentionally lower than our wool area rugs so it's easier to keep clean, but it's still dense wool, not a thin flat mat.
